Motech solar cells

Motech is a Taiwanese producer of photovoltaic solar cells whose efficiency is among the top in the world. Motech can also offer particularly favourable temperature coefficients. There is good reason why Motech is the 3^rd biggest player in the world.

A few distinguishing features:

• Motech supplies both mono- and polycrystalline cells.
• The cells are available in both 5" and 6" versions. GH Solar BaseLine modules and the ExceLine modules contain the 5" cells, while the EnduroLine have the 6" cells on board.
• The standard cell colours are dark blue (I cells). In addition light blue cells are also available.
• The cells that we use for our Black Series are black (A cells)
• Cells can also be printed in other colours on request (purple, green, red, etc.) (X cells)

Tyco junction box

The junction box is the interface between the solar panel and the outside world. The durability and the watertightness of the junction box is of crucial importance here. Tyco junction boxes are manufactured in Germany and the United States and are known worldwide for their durability.

A few distinguishing features:

• Maximum current: 15A.
• Connection in series possible up to 1,000V DC
• State of the art bypass diodes guarantee maximum efficiency even with cloud cover (also called diffuse light).
• Extremely high watertightness due to the IP-65 standard

MC4 (compatible) connectors

Our panels are equipped as standard with MC4 (MultiContact) or MC4 compatible connectors. This is the most usual standard on the market. If required we can adapt the cable length and connectors to the needs of the specific project.

Dow Corning

The adhesion of the glass to the aluminium frame, and also the adhesion of the junction box to the back of the panel is ensured with a silicone adhesive. The quality of this silicone adhesive and its fitting are of primordial importance, and are often underestimated. After all, temperature variations and other environmental parameters put the solar panel thoroughly to the test.

Dow Corning is market leader in the field of glues and other adhesives. The Dow Corning Solar Silicone adhesive that GH Solar uses on all its panels carries a standard 25 year warranty. Real-life tests show that the Dow Corning silicone adhesive guarantees the adhesions of the panel longer than the theoretical life expectancy of a panel. The choice of Dow Corning is again a well-considered choice.

Glass

The tempered safety glass with which our panels are equipped has a number of unique properties. The pyramid structure that is fitted to the inside of the glass optimally conducts the light to the cells and limits the reflection of sunlight to a minimum. Applied onto the safety glass is a film of a few nanometres thick that guarantees the self-cleaning capacities of the glass.

GH Solar regularly has the glass used tested by independent labs. We also use different types of glass for different applications.

Frame

The panel is framed at the end of the production process with a profile of anodised aluminium. This not only improves rigidity and sturdiness, but the anodisation process also increases the resistance to acid rain, corrosion, and other side effects that the natural elements can cause.

Depending on the applications GH Solar equips its panels with a standard frame or a black frame. Each GH Solar module is also available without a frame.
